MADE IN BED proudly introduces our newest Interviews Co-Editor, Alexis Kleeman!
Alexis was born and raised on Oahu Hawaii and was homeschooled from kindergarten through high school. She started attending Leeward Community College when she was sixteen and earned an Associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and a certificate in Global Studies while completing her Girl Scouts of America Gold Award (equivalent to The Queen’s Guide Award). Then Alexis transferred to The University of Hawaii at Manoa on academic and art scholarships where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Art History with a minor in dance. While attending The University of Hawaii she studied abroad in Florence, Italy for a summer completing courses in renaissance art history and guilds, architecture, and art restoration and conservation through the Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici where she was privileged to live across the street from the Pitti Palace for the summer and required to complete a certification in scaffold climbing. While at The University of Hawaii Alexis also explored printmaking and had two works selected to be in the Honolulu Printmaker’s 97th annual juried exhibition.
